We used recycled containers to make our own nature terrariums.... this kept my littles busy playing for HOURS! It was a big hit.
We used old containers, and cut an opening large enough to use as a terrarium. (Helpful hint: if the plastic is too sharp use clear packaging tape to smooth the edges)
Next, we went on a nature walk and collected items to put into our terrariums. Grasses, flowers, rocks, sticks, branches, berries, shells, nuts, pinecones, anything you can find!
Next, we used kinetic sand as our base (you can use dirt or any kind of sand). Just let the kids pat the sand into the container first, then put all of there treasures inside. Add your own miniatures to make a super fun nature playhouse too!
