Yummy White Chocolate Cranberry Lactation Cookies

Yes! Lactation Cookies!! I was recently asked to join our local lactation consultants group at the hospital to inspire the new breastfeeding mommies. I breastfed my oldest for a year, and our two month old daughter has been a superb exclusive breast-feeder. The subject of lactation cookies came up, and that was all I needed to grab some brewer's yeast and make a batch for the Greer household.

I made an adaptation of my favorite white chocolate and cranberry cookie recipe, and they turned our GREAT! Here are the ingredients:
  • 3 tbsp brewer's yeast (this is the active ingredient to increase your milk supply, so no substitutes!)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 sugar
  • 3/4 brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries


1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Mix flaxseed and water in small bowl and let sit for five minutes

3. Combine brewer's yeast, flour, salt, and baking soda into medium bowl
4. Beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar for three minutes on high until creamy
5. Mix in vanilla, flaxseed, and eggs (whip with a fork for a two minutes until everything is blended)

6. Stir in your oats, chocolate, and cranberries

7. Spoon on baking sheet (two inch balls about two inches apart)
8. Bake for 12 minutes then cool
